About Seminario Reformado Latinoamericano

Our Foundation

SRL stands firmly on the authority of God’s Word and the timeless truths of Reformed theology. We are committed to the doctrines of grace, the five solas of the Reformation, and uphold either the Westminster Confession of Faith or the 1689 London Baptist Confession, depending on a student’s chosen path.

Founded in 1998, Seminario Reformado Latinoamericano was born out of personal transformation. Dr. Noé Acosta, once a candidate for the Roman Catholic priesthood, came to saving faith after reading the Bible and discovering the doctrine of justification by faith alone. That encounter with the truth of Scripture changed his life—and became the foundation for a seminary that now trains pastors across South America to boldly proclaim the Gospel of Grace. Our Goal

SRL exists to train national pastors, teachers, and church leaders to faithfully proclaim the Gospel and shepherd Christ’s church throughout South America. In a region marked by theological confusion and spiritual need, we provide rigorous, Reformed theological education in the students’ own language and cultural context. Our programs—whether residential, regional, or virtual—are designed to equip students for real-world ministry, including preaching, counseling, discipleship, and church leadership.

Our vision is pastoral and missionary at heart. We long to see biblically faithful, spiritually mature men leading churches that are rooted in Scripture and shaped by the doctrines of grace. Through their ministries, we pray for a growing movement of church reformation—one where the Gospel is rightly preached, the sacraments rightly administered, and Christ is exalted throughout Latin America.

Our Leadership

SRL’s leadership is shaped by the same convictions that launched the Reformation: the supremacy of Scripture and the power of the Gospel. Dr. Noé Acosta, our founder, once sought truth within Roman Catholicism, but after discovering the doctrine of justification by faith in Christ alone, he dedicated his life to biblical ministry. His studies at a Reformed seminary led to debates defending Sola Scriptura, and the vision for SRL was born. Today, SRL is led by a growing network of faithful pastors, theologians, and educators who share one purpose: to bring the light of the Reformation to Latin America by training the next generation of gospel ministers.
